Experience all the sights, sounds and smells of America's oldest and largest market of its kind. This popular tour uncovers Eastern Market’s amazing 170-year history, from cemeteries to breweries, rum-running to art galleries, and safe houses to prisons. You will come away with fascinating stories to savor along with your fresh market finds!
The tour begins at the Eastern Market Welcome Center, located at 1445 Adelaide, in the heart of the Market.
Tickets:$10 per person. Payment by cash, check, and MasterCard or Visa is accepted.
Please note: Tours usually last between two and three hours. Tours depart rain or shine, so please check ahead and dress appropriately. Tour group size is limited and space is available on a first come first served basis. For tour groups of 10 or more, reservations are required. Call us at (313) 577-7674 for more information.

Hear the amazing stories of Eastern Market’s historic breweries! Visit five important brewing sites with guides Pat and Pete Cornils, Detroit-area members of the St. Louis-based Brewery Collectibles Club of America (BCCA). See industrial ruins, adaptive re-use, and new commercial buildings at those sites. After the 2 hour walking tour in the Market area, enjoy a cold Stroh’s, compliments of Preservation Wayne and E&B Lofts, for those 21 and older!
