Thanks

We gratefully acknowledge the following supporters for their recent gifts and grants:

  • Michigan Historical Center, for their grant of $4,000 in April 2005 toward the redesign of Preservation Wayne’s website. One of 26 projects in Michigan (and the only one from Detroit) to receive this award, Preservation Wayne is pleased to launch its new and improved site in September 2005.
  • J. Douglas Peters of Charfoos & Christenson, former Preservation Wayne board member and continued supporter, for his substantial gift to the organization in 2004.
  • Harriet Schmidt, a longtime member and preservationist, for her generous bequest to the organization in 2004.
  • National Endowment for the Humanities, for their grant of $3,941 in 2003 to conserve and catalog 7,500+ historic architectural photographic prints, slides and negatives. The collection includes a wide range of images of 19th and 20th architecture in the City of Detroit, including structures, city streets and neighborhoods; images of the activities of Preservation Wayne throughout its 30-year history; and a small number of maps and blueprints.

As a not-for-profit organization, Preservation Wayne relies on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations to support its programs in preservation. For opportunities to contribute, please read about Sponsorship or Planned Giving, or contact us at (313) 577-3559.
