Archive

During the last three decades, Preservation Wayne has amassed a collection of valuable historic documentation on Detroit’s history and rich built environment.

Our private archive contains files on many Detroit buildings, including corresponding images in print, slide and negative formats. Our library includes architecture, history and preservation-related books, pamphlets, brochures and other publications that have been collected over the years.

Thanks to a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the generous efforts of volunteer librarians and interns, Preservation Wayne’s archive is currently undergoing an extensive cataloguing process that will enhance the collection’s accessibility.

The archive is available by appointment during business hours. Please contact us for further information.
